Biometric Update | Realtime North America partners with Fujitsu for palm vein biometric SAP authentication

Realtime North America has announced a strategic relationship with Fujitsu for the distribution of PalmLock, a new solution which combines Fujitsu’s PalmSecure and bioLock’s security software for use with SAP.
According to realtime, what this means is that bioLock’s security system is now able to authenticate SAP user activities using palm vein scans captured with Fujitsu PalmSecure sensors. Biometric authentication can be applied at log-on or at more detailed SAP transactions.
This new solution is available now and is being distributed through Fujitsu Frontech North America.
“We are excited to work with Fujitsu as they offer this mission-critical solution to SAP users in major global markets and diverse industry verticals,” Thomas Neudenberger, COO of realtime North America said. “The bioLock software is natively designed for use with SAP and provides biometric identity management and re-authentication of users working in SAP. The PalmSecure vascular pattern recognition technology combines highly reliable authentication and live-ness detection with high speed and low false accept/reject rates. The bioLock software solution is the only biometric security system certified by SAP.”
BiometricUpdate.com last year spoke with Neudenberger about realtime, biometrics and fraud prevention inside SAP. Read the full interview here.
According to Bud Yanak, Director of Currency Handling & Identification Product Solutions at Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., “because palm vein patterns are so complex, unique and stable over a person’s lifetime, they provide an excellent biometric for authenticating SAP activities, overcoming the limitations of traditional password-based security.”
