Mark of the Beast | Barcelona's La Caixa to Offer a Payment Wristband

Back in June we reported that Barclays Bank was going to begin offering a new contactless payment system. They were going to offer a wristband that is wearable credit card. It would contain a chip with your banking information and near field communication. Now Spain's CaixaBank, is also going to be offering a payment wristband. CaixaBank is a large financial services company that is owned by La Caixa. A Catalan savings bank with headquarters in Barcelona, it is one of the largest banks in Europe.

With wearable technology like this and other contactless payment schemes, it is easy to see that all the pieces are in place for the mark of the beast. If the wearable technology is replaced with a device attached to the hand or the forehead in a cashless society, then it will no longer be possible to buy or sell without it. Cashless technology, like biometrics, is sweeping the world.

Mobile Banking | Canadians embrace mobile banking - CBA

Convenience has overcome security concerns when it comes to mobile banking. Despite legitimate security reasons never to access your bank account using your mobile phone, the practice continues to grow and expand. Banks promote this because it saves them a great deal of money by cutting back on the number of brick and mortar branches and cutting the staff that goes with it. The savings by the banks has yet to trickle down to the consumers.

Three Dead Executives Add to Unease with World Economy

A high profile job, a comfortable income and the respect of peers was apparently not enough to prevent three men in the banking industry from taking their own lives in the past week.  William Broeksmit was found hanging in his London home.  When he retired in February 2013, he was a senior manager at Deutsche Bank and the head of risk optimization for the bank. He was considered one of the finest minds in the world on the subject of risk management.

Also in London, Gabriel Magee fell to his death from the roof of J. P. Morgan's 33 story European headquarters building at 25 Bank Street. Magee was a 39 year old vice president of technology for J. P. Morgan.  He died at approximately 8:00 a.m. But his body lay covered by a sheet until it was moved about four and one half hours later. His parents are said to be angry at the bank because the bank had failed to call them. They described their son as being happy with his life. They are planning on traveling to London from their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico to find the truth of what happened to him.

Banking in the Near Future

A technological revolution is under way in banking, with computers lined up to replace humans in branches

Intelligent machines could replace human bank staff in high street branches within five years, the Telegraph has learnt.

Several major banks are understood to be in talks to introduce "express" branches, which would be similar to self-service checkouts in supermarkets. These smaller outlets would be almost completely devoid of human interaction.
